The Professional Engineers Board recognizes that our national growth depends on the availability of safe spaces to work, gather, and live. Indeed our homes, buildings, and infrastructure play an essential role, both in everyday life and critically when disasters strike.
The Board recognizes that modern building codes are used by professionals to facilitate safe construction and to protect the public from hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods, earthquakes, and climate change. Stakeholders engaged in the built environment include fire prevention officials, architects, engineers, builders, tradespeople and laborers, and many others who consider safety their highest priority.
The theme for Building Safety Month 2023 is “It Starts with You,” and is sponsored by the International Code Council thereby encouraging us all to raise awareness about building safety on a personal, local, and global scale. Therefore, the Professional Engineers Board encourages all engineers and other stakeholders to participate in the International Code Council building safety month during the month of May through the below link.
