VACANCY NOTICE  HULL TREATMENT MANAGER 
A vacancy exists for a Hull Treatment Manager. The Hull Treatment Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and optimisation of surface preparation and painting operations across simultaneously running shipyard projects either in dock or afloat alongside. The role ensures efficient and safe deployment of the right people and trade equipment to support projects. 
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, coordinate, and manage all surface preparation & painting operations of the shipyard.  Ensure efficient allocation and deployment of competent personnel and the required equipment.  Oversee owned and rented equipment, and manage contracted service providers.  Collaborate with Procurement to develop and manage service agreements, ensure contract compliance, monitor performance, and maximise efficiency.  Develop and maintain an equipment master plan aligned with project schedules and operational priorities.  Coordinate with Projects and Operations departments to ensure timely availability of equipment and services.  Monitor equipment utilisation, downtime, and performance to ensure high operational efficiency.  Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and compliant with regulatory and yard safety standards.  Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to manage the supply, maintenance, and off hire of hired in services or equipment.  Oversee the departmental UHP maintenance team to achieve on time and in budget maintenance and repair of UHP equipment, minimising equipment downtime and ensuring operational readiness.  Manage personnel, ensuring adherence to safety standards, productivity goals, and company procedures.  Identify and implement process improvements to enhance effectiveness and reduce costs.  Accountable for the management and control of the departmental budget.   The employee agrees to:  Report incidents (safety, environmental, and property damage) immediately to Health & Safety.  Actively participate in incident investigations and support timely closeout of corrective actions as required.  Contribute to project briefings to ensure lessons learned are shared across teams.  Evaluate team performance and competence, set objectives, and conduct appraisals. Provide guidance and mentoring where appropriate or identify training needs.  Participate in company-led training, competence assessments, and refresher programs as directed.  Maintain confidentiality of company information, client data, and intellectual property.  Respect and ensure the correct and safe use, maintenance and care of yard facilities, equipment, tools, workshops, machinery, and PPE.  Adhere to all company policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPECTATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, or a related field, and minimum three (3) years proven post-qualification relevant work experience at Manager level required; or  An equivalent combination of technical vocational training and minimum ten (10) years relevant work experience in shipyards, minimum 3 years of which at Manager level, will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications under such conditions.  NACE/AMPP Level 3 or FROSIO Level Red Coating Inspector certification.  Other AMPP Certifications advantageous, such as: AMPP Protective Coating Specialist (PCS) SSPC C7/C12 for abrasive blasting and coating  Commercial awareness with strong negotiation and influencing skills.  ISO 9001/14001/45001 awareness.  Direct work experience with UHP and abrasive blasting systems, and coating application systems.  Strong understanding of production planning and resource management.  Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with proven experience working within multinational teams.  IT literate in the MS Office suite of applications, with emphasis on Word and Excel. Proficient with planning tools and shipyard ERP systems.  Demonstrated knowledge of the principal shipyard hazards, particularly related surface preparation and coating application, and the control measures implemented to minimise risk.  Exhibits a leadership mentality, situational awareness, and a proactive safety mindset.  Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance with company values, ethical standards, and client confidentiality.  Must comply with all relevant national and international safety legislation.  Advocate of the Safety Absolutes Program, consistently addressing cases of non-compliance and completing the reporting obligations.  Acceptance of periodic review and amendment of duties as determined by Company operational needs.  Commitment to continual professional development.
